On September 15, 2018 the Ensors were handed out for the 9th time during the festive Gala in Kursaal Ostend. For the first time, Flemish TV series were awarded as well, in addition to films. Furthermore, 2018 was the first year in which the winners were chosen by the Academy of the Ensors, represented by professionals from the Flemish audiovisual industry.
