All the winners of the Ensors 2025

‘Julie Keeps Quiet’’ was awarded an Ensor Best Sound (Arne Winderickx, Boris Debackere, Gustaf Berger), Best Film Screenplay (Leonardo van Dijl, Ruth Becquart), Best Costume Design(Ellen Blereau), Best Film Direction (Leonardo van Dijl) and Best D.O.P. (Nicolas Karakatsanis). ‘Holy Rosita’ won the Ensors for Best Music (David Martijn), Best Art Direction (Toon Mariën) Best Performance in a Lead Role Film (Daphne Agten), Best Performance in a Supporting Role Film (Mieke De Groote), and the Telenet Audience Award.

‘SKUNK’ was awarded the Ensor for Best Film, and also won the Ensor for Best Makeup (Evalotte Oosterop). In addition, the series ‘Moresnet’ took home with 3 Ensors, for Best TV Series, Best Direction TV Series (Frank Van Passel) and Best Editing (Thomas Pooters, Nico Poedts, Stijn Deconinck, Koen Timmerman, Pieter Smet). With the new Impact Award - supported by Nationale Loterij - presented for the first time this year - the merits of Angelo Tijssens were highlighted. The co-screenwriter of ‘Girl’ and ‘Close’ was praised for addressing social issues in his work, bringing new perspectives, and enriching the cultural landscape.

Greg Timmermans was awarded Best Performance in a Supporting Role TV Series for ‘Assisen: De Insulinemoord’, while Best Performance in a Lead Role TV Series was awarded to Isabelle Van Hecke for ‘Nonkels’ (Season 2). ‘Nonkels’ (Season 2) also won the Ensor for Best Screenplay TV Series (Jelle De Beule, Floris Schillebeeckx). The Ensor for Best Documentary Film went to the
Oscar-nominated ‘Soundtrack to a Coup d’Etat’. The editor of the documentary, Rik Chaubet, was also named Promise of the Year with the support of BNP Paribas Fortis.

‘Zij Hen Wij’ won in the Best Documentary TV Series category, ‘Bad Bad Belgium’ was awarded the Ensor for Best Animation, and ‘Hawa & Adam’ took home the Ensor for Best Youth Fiction. Flemish director Guido Henderickx - known for ‘Moeder, waarom leven wij?’, ’Koning van de Wereld’, ‘Skin’ and ’S’, posthumously received the Lifetime Achievement Award.

Prior to the Gala of The Ensors, four Ensors were awarded during the Ostend Film Festival. International Breakthrough of the Year (Albert Bert Prijs) was awarded to Malin-Sarah Gozin, screenwriter of ‘Clan’, ‘Tabula Rasa’ and the new series ‘Dood Spoor’ (Dead End). ‘La nuit se traîne’ was named Best French-speaking Belgian film, ‘La Peine’ Best Co-production. Finally, Lennert Madou was able to add the Ensor for Best Short Film to his record for ‘Upper’.
